you never know...

amely and i spent ALL DAY on thursday in airports or on planes. no lie. we left the house at 6 for a 8:40am flight to miami, a three hour layover in MIA, a 45 minute jump to orlando and then the longest wait ever.

and a side note. orlando is a huge airport. but i kind of freaked out. and i was so nervous i called my dad collect to make sure i was in the right place. because i kept checking the flight boards and my mom and aunt's flights were not on there! how could i be in an airport that only gets flights from continental and american? is this a special airport? nothing disney? this is orlando? no worries. i was missing the tram to the terminal and once i figured that out (thanks, dad!) i was in disney central!

so, i crossed that tram and sat in the airport for four hours. well, more than four hours, but whatever. i sat in the food court, by the coolest fishtank ever. and listened to people talk.

and really, you should watch what you say in an airport because you never know who is listening. like the couple who was talking about their explicit sexcapades, the stupid girl talking about her sisters (elicit) affair... and so much more.

i got a good laugh out of some of it, but some just made me feel bad and other stuff just shouldn't be talked about in a public place.

so. watch your mouth when you're out. you never know who's listening.

just an update.

i'm in florida.
which means numerous things. the bloggy important one is that i have access to the internet. and for the past three hours-ish have been catching up on my blog reading, facebook and other useless time-suckers.

it's amazing how much i actually get done with no internet in my house.

of course, it's raining. because it was supposed to be a weekend to lounge at the pool. but more because my aunt brings bad weather. we were supposed to go to the beach a day, but that nasty oil spill spoiled those plans.

amely is here with us, but since samil has to pay for his plane ticket and they were pretty pricey, he gets to stay with papi this weekend.

i'm excited to be here. to rest and relax and catch up with family.
and drink rum and cokes by the pool. if it ever stops raining.

um yah.

i'm sorry, but if you don't have money, stop complaining to me about how much your housekeeper costs, how much the private, bilingual school you send your kids to costs, and how much your penthouse apartment sets you back a month.

also, stop telling me how you're ripping off the american government by collecting social security for your deaf daughter who hasn't lived a day in her life in the states.

trick!

i've finally been given my camera back.

that was a long and somewhat stressful situation... you know, because besides moving, moving in, settling in, organizing the new place and watching our neighbors protest the local government for not having paved our roads (yet), i had to deal with my mom bugging me about the stupid camera. and when is she going to see pictures of those ankle-biters she calls grandchildren?

ha.

i had to charge the battery and completely forgot about the camera until i was ready to leave for work today (where i have internet access) and wasn't able to take pictures.

but watch out, loyal blog readers, the cutest faces in the world are on their way to a computer screen near you!

keep on keepin' on.

i sit down and write out really beautiful blog posts to save to memory and post later... but always forget to save them to the memory stick and post them later.

update?

samil is getting big so fast, but he's still having some problems with his speech. i'm going to get his hearing checked one of these days, but the only doctor i've heard of here who does it has appointments available in august. oh well. he knows like 13 letters and hates counting. he also hates for his sister to touch his toys. unless he gives her permission of course. and then she can only touch what he says she can touch. he does love her, though, and is the first person he looks for when he wakes up. he loves cows and chickens and watering plants.

amely is going to be a year in one month. well, one month minus a day. and let me tell you, this kid is nothing like her brother was. she's a spitfire. all over the place, into things she shouldn't be into. she particularly loves the trashcan and the toilet. luckily, though, she's pretty easy going and is learning to love sleeping.

we're getting ready for summer ,which is traditionally difficult for us because i don't work, but we'll see if this summer we can get our act together and not run out of money before my students come back from korea.

gotta get back to class, but i promise pictures soon. promise.
